PDR is the method of removing dents from the body of a motor vehicle. A wide range of damage can be repaired using PDR providing the paint surface is still intact. PDR can be performed on both aluminium and steel panels.

Paintless Dent Removal requires the use of metal rods and body picks to push out dents from the underside of the body panel. Glue and specially designed tabs may also be used to pull out dents from outside the panel. 

The correct term for this type of dent is a high spot/high crowns. And yes these can be repaired by tapping down whilst performing the repair.
